
Wayne Sells
Director of Photography
Wayne Sells’ career as a cinematographer spans over 13 years and includes award-winning work for producing and filming full-length broadcast programs, feature films, documentary style films and videos, marketing and training programs, and broadcast commercials for Hollywood studios, agencies and corporate clients alike.
With a passion for shooting and an eye for lighting, Sells has compiled an enviable list of credits that includes national and regional advertising spots and long-format work for clients like Universal Studios, Totes Umbrellas, American Eagle and The Limited Corporation, including its Structure, Lane Bryant, The Limited, Limited Too and Express divisions. He has produced tabletop campaigns for Wendy’s, Rax, and Max & Erma’s restaurants; medical and health care image campaigns for numerous hospitals and insurance companies; and documentary and film programs for the Corporation of Public Broadcasting. His creative approaches have earned numerous industry honors, including ITVA, EMMY and ADDY awards.
Sells’ cinematography credits include two independent feature films. He served as Director of Photography for the Trimark Pictures release, Uninvited Guest, which earned the Best of Festival award in the Domestic Film category at the 1999 BFA Film Festival and the
Audience Choice for Best Film award at the 1999 New York Urban Film Festival. His second feature, Jacked, a Trimark Pictures release, took top prize for “works in progress” at the 2001 BFA Acapulco Film Festival and was released nationwide on DVD/VHS in 2002. Sells served as 2nd unit DP for the 1996 independent film, Bullet Head, a Cosnar Productions film with foreign distribution and national cable release.
After serving as Senior Director of Photography for several regional production houses and going on to own several production companies, Sells has returned to his roots and creative passion, focusing on the craft of Cinematography and the pursuit of storytelling through the lens of the camera.
